Both Deceased Students Identified in the Ivy League School Attack as Authorities Persist in Hunt for Gunman.

Two students who were killed in the weekend's mass shooting on the university campus had tributes paid to them on Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their shooter persisted following the freeing by Rhode Island officials of the single suspect of interest in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was called “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, as stated by the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a gathering on Sunday.

She served as second-in-command of Brown’s division of College Republicans of America, as the club stated. The White House press secretary also shared words of sorrow publicly, saying in part: “It's indescribable. Remembering her family and friends, especially her parents.”

MukhammadAziz Umurzokov

The other person killed was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his initial year at the Ivy League university, according to relatives.

Umurzokov’s identity was confirmed by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. His ambitions were lofty of entering the field of neurosurgery and helping people,” his sibling Samira said in a tribute.

The Shooting Incident

An additional nine individuals were wounded in the weekend shooting in the school of engineering of Brown’s university in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Officials stated late Sunday that a 24-year-man taken into custody in a police operation at a hotel about approximately 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was released from custody.

“There is a killer at large,” stated Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you need to change course and head another way, and that is the current situation over the last approximately one day.”

Public Fear

Brett Smiley, Brett Smiley, admitted: “It is expected to provoke new worry for our community”.

The shooter discharged a weapon inside a classroom in the building on over the weekend, discharging in excess of 40 shots from a 9mm pistol, a law enforcement official told the Associated Press.

Officers that raided the inn seized two firearms and two ammunition clips when the individual was arrested, as was reported.

The Wounded Victims

Among those wounded, one pupil was allowed to go home, said Christina Paxson, Christina Paxson. Seven more were in grave but unchanging health, and another was critically ill, police said on Sunday.

A private school, a private K-12 school in the city of Durham, said a former student, Kendall Turner, was one of the critically injured.

Additional Memorials

Tributes were paid to Cook at a religious service in Birmingham on Sunday. A reverend stated, “She was an incredible, grounded, faithful bright light not only in her youth... but at Brown University she was an incredible light in that particular place as well.”

A group leader, Martin Bertao, posted a statement from the club. “She was famed for her courageous, valiant, and compassionate nature as she served her chapter and other students,” he said.

Jonathan Henick, Jonathan Henick, said he was “extremely sorrowful” by the passing of Umurzokov in a tribute. “We offer our heartfelt sympathies to his relatives, friends, and fellow students and grieve for of his bright future.”

The weekend's murders at Brown, the seventh oldest in the US university with about thousands of bachelor's and 3,000 graduate students, took place amid one of at least 392 shooting incidents reported in the US so far in this year, according to statistics. The following Monday was the 349th day of the year.
