Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.

US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic television series such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA recently following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, according to reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a message.

They added that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".

An Extensive TV Career

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.

Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
