Alina Habba has resigned as New Jersey's top federal prosecutor. This decision was prompted by a judicial decision that invalidated her right to serve.

Attorney General's Statement

US Attorney General, Pam Bondi, confirmed Habba's resignation on Monday. She commented that the judicial decision made it unworkable for the official to effectively run her office.

"Let no one confuse following the order as giving up," she wrote. "My fight will now extend throughout the country."

Judicial Challenge

The departure was triggered by a judicial panel ruled that she had been unlawfully serving as the federal prosecutor. This decision is likely to affect numerous criminal cases in the state.
