During a dominant display, the English national team clinched a further victory versus Albania, with multiple squad members turning in notable performances throughout the game.

Starting Eleven

The goalkeeper Had little to do to make during the opening 45 but then forced to intervene by Arbër Hoxha’s curled attempt. His sliding tackle against an Albanian attacker highlighted excellent reading of the game. 6/10

Jarell Quansah Tested by the opposition's biggest threat through Hoxha. Started in a central role initially then shifted out wide after Saka entered the fray. 7/10

John Stones Advanced up the pitch on the ball, as he has done previously. On occasion was too casual when carrying play with the approach abandoned at half-time. Six

The tall defender A nuisance on corners and free-kicks, typically, could serve as a replacement to Stones at the back rather than his partner. One wayward distribution after the break almost led to a goal for the visitors. 6

The young full-back A further assured showing by the 20-year-old after his first cap against another side. Saka did not capitalize on the opportunity from an exquisite touch over the opposing backline. The role is his to lose already. 7

The newcomer His first start with the national team. A bit loose when playing out however his dangerous deliveries were a threat. A useful tempo-setter for the boss to have versus defensive opponents. Booked for a poorly timed challenge. 6/10

Declan Rice Set-pieces from corners and free kicks created chances. Was given freedom to drift down the left flank but was in an offside position when the ball arrived in front of goal. Awarded a deserved break after an hour. 6

The star midfielder Operated in a forward position out wide and also did plenty of the hard yards. Showed moments of class but dragged an effort high. Replaced towards the end for a teammate, his rival, after being booked. 7

The winger Had England’s top opening before halftime, his effort smartly stopped by the opposing goalkeeper. As a teammate holding position, he was forced to provide width on the right but his crosses into the box were inconsistent. Substituted late in the match. 6/10

Harry Kane The difference-maker scoring two more finishes in an England shirt. The opener a typical opportunist's goal and his next a superb headed goal having drifted away away from the opposition. Now 32, he’s only getting better and the side stand a real opportunity next summer with him up top. Eight

The attacker Found it tough to influence play on the left flank. Was presented with a presentable chance after being played in by Bellingham however Strakosha made the save. His replacement had a greater influence when substituted. Five

• Bukayo Saka (on for the winger 63) Failed to convert but his corner provided the first goal, Six
• Rashford (for the attacker with 15 left) Energetic after coming on and provided Kane’s second with superb cross into the area, 7
• Anderson (for Wharton 75) Appears comfortable already, 6/10
• Rogers (replacing the star 84) Too brief a spell to influence the game, 6/10
