Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the central business district on Tuesday afternoon.

Officials stated the forty-year-old media personality was accosted by three suspects, with one opened fire on him before fleeing on foot.

The motive of the incident remains unclear and no arrests have been made, according to authorities.

Authorities revealed that Stock was targeted as he was exiting a location in the vicinity of the Carlton Centre.

He had been present for hours at the property managing the setup of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by unknown people, as per local media.

"The report indicates the victim was confronted by three unidentified men after he parked his car, and they shot at him before escaping on foot," a police statement confirmed.

Surveillance tape reportedly depicted a suspect with dreadlocks and dressed in what resembled a security uniform firing shots on Stock before running away.

The DJ tried to run away after he was hit but succumbed to his injuries on the opposite side of the road.

It was further revealed that Stock had an unused firearm and it was not a robbery during the assault.
