The Renowned Musician Encourages Backing to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to send a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign hopes to send support to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It has a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced after a major charity concert held in late summer. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the rendition was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The diverse array of performers featured on Lullaby includes a range of prominent voices from the music world. All were part of the earlier concert, which managed to collect a significant sum for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a team of talented individuals. The song blends a combination of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The team running the campaign have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These donations will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Naturally, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The reality in the area was noted for its profound destruction, with a vast majority of buildings described as destroyed or damaged.

“In that context, a few million doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is first of all making this cause better known and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from mid-December.
